The media and entertainment industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in Indian Industry. Exploding may be a better word than growing as far as this industry is concerned. Hundreds of TV channels, plenty of FM Radio stations and the ever growing Digital Theatre and films, Gaming Engines, etc have necessitated the need for qualified and trained personnel in this field.
Hindustan University offers MBA programme in Media and Entertainment , a course that is new, exciting and set to revolutionize the way the future professionals will shape the Indian Media and Entertainment industry. To enrich the curriculum and delivery of MBA( media and entertainment)course , the university has entered into an active collaboration with AAT – SAE, the world’s largest media college.
This programme trains the students both on the managerial talents and technical skills by designing the curricula on the advice of the experts from the field of Management and Media & Entertainment technology. The students will undergo studies with practice in the field of management during the first year and then devote the second year in mastering the technology.
The opportunities are amazingly great in the fields of Media and Entertainment. The students will be placed in reputed media and entertainment firms as event manager, media planner, television producer, creative director etc.

Access Atlantech Edutainment (I) Ltd (AAT)., India’s largest media Education provider in the technology arena has tied-up with Hindustan University, UGC & AICTE approved, deemed institution, which has sprawling campus in Chennai. The first year of the programme will be conducted on the Hindustan University campus in Chennai & the programme’s second year will be held on the Access Atlantech (AAT) campus in Chennai.
The course objective is two fold – it gives an overall view and total grasp on management subjects used in governance as in Business, finance, production and general management. Secondly, it focuses on core industries as in Media, entertainment, online, design and lifestyle. An unique course as it combines practical, hands-on and theory based knowledge alongside international case studies from the industry. A Management grad from this program will possess working knowledge of the industry at unparalleled levels giving him a cutting edge over his contemporaries.
Academic Qualification Graduate (10+2+3) and above with minimum second class (50%), in UG from any stream of education – Engineering / Arts /Media/ Commerce from a UGC recognized University.
THE PROGRAM OF STUDY
The duration of the program is two years and students could complete the program within a period of 5 years from the year of admission and the program will comprise of the subjects given in the course content.
Medium Of Instruction
English will be the medium of instruction for the program.
Summer Semester (6 Weeks)
Project report of the Summer Project is to be submitted by the students within 30 days from the commencement of the 3rd semester. Evaluation report should be sent to the Controller of Examinations by the HOD through the Principal, before the last working day of the 3rd semester.
The methodology of instruction is learner-oriented, and the student has to be an active participant in the teaching-learning process.
A multi-channel approach is followed for instruction. It comprises a suitable mix of
SELF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL (SIM)
SIM are the primary form of instructional materials. Improvement in quality is ensured through SIMs because no single text book can cover the course content appropriately. Also SIM is designed to make the subject matter self-explanatory and easy to understand. Each SIM is divided into blocks consisting of several units. Each unit is sized in such a manner that it can be studied in a session of about 4 to 6 hours.
